Freyr Snæbjörnsson is an attorney with a license to practice before the district courts. He received an LL.M. in International Banking Law and Finance from the University of Edinburgh in 2018, focusing on the European financial services’ regulatory framework and FinTech. Freyr specializes in financial markets and their regulatory framework. He has an in-depth knowledge in this area and regularly provides domestic and foreign clients regulatory advice concerning financial services, payment services and related topics. He has extensive experience advising on corporate finance transactions, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings, rights offerings and bond offerings, including covered bonds, and also having advised on initial coin offerings. He is a frequent speaker on these topics and a lecturer of Capital Markets Law at the University of Iceland, Faculty of Law, in addition to authoring a number of related articles. Freyr is a member of LOGOS’s banking and finance team. Freyr has also gained an in-depth knowledge of the legal framework for aquaculture (fish farming), a rapidly growing industry in Iceland, and regularly advises on the financing, sale and purchase of such companies. Freyr began working for LOGOS in 2013 and became a partner in 2023.
